About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our PHP Backend Development Team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and maintaining our core backend services while contributing to a high-performing development team. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the Nordics, Germany, and the UK, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver powerful, data-driven solutions that support the skilled trades and construction industries.

🛠️ Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services and web applications using PHP, Laravel, Eloquent, GraphQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  
• Design scalable database models and schemas that support business logic and performance needs.
  
• Implement and maintain GraphQL endpoints for efficient and structured data exchange.
  
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with strong Automated Test Coverage using PHPUnit.
  
• Work closely with Product Owners, SMEs, QA, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
  
• Support the team in adopting and improving DevOps practices across the development lifecycle.
  
• Use tools like Jira and GitLab for task tracking, version control, and team collaboration.
  
• Apply Agile development methodologies to deliver iterative improvements and enhancements.
  
• Stay current with emerging technologies, including the use of AI to improve development workflows.

✅ Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with PHP, Laravel, Eloquent, GraphQL, and SQL.
• Proficient in Database Modeling and Design (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Experience with Automated Unit Testing using PHPUnit.
• Familiar with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Skilled in Jira, GitLab; familiarity with SonarQube is a plus.
• Proficient in Agile environments with a collaborative mindset.
• Passionate about optimizing development workflows with the latest AI technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear, fluent communication in English (spoken and written).
