General Counsel
We empower the builders of today to shape the societies of tomorrow- Let’s build the future together!
At ACEVE, we back the builders of society. We build digital tools for the people who construct and maintain our physical world — electricians, plumbers, contractors — giving them back their time, clarity, and confidence. We're a Nordic SaaS company on a journey to become Europe's leading platform for construction and skilled trades. We're an AI-first company, and how we work is changing fast. The journey is real: sometimes messy, always driven by intention. We build with grit, openness, and a good dose of joy.
About the role:
As General Counsel, you'll be ACEVE's chief legal advisor — the person who helps the business move fast without breaking the things that matter. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you'll build and lead a centralised legal function from the ground up, bringing structure and clarity to a legal landscape that has grown with us. This is a role for someone equally comfortable advising on a strategic transaction and writing a policy that holds across multiple jurisdictions. You'll work closely with the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership — not as a gatekeeper, but as a builder.
What will you do:
You'll own the legal function at ACEVE — from day-to-day counsel to long-term legal strategy across a growing, multi-jurisdictional business.
Advise the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership on all legal matters, from commercial contracts to corporate governance
Oversee compliance across the business — GDPR, employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy
Build and lead a centralised legal function, consolidating governance and processes from previously decentralised structures
Lead negotiations and manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies
Support M&A activity, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions
Advise on AI-related legal and ethical considerations, including emerging regulations and risk management
Develop and implement legal policies that work across multiple jurisdictions
Monitor changes in laws and regulations and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for the business
Manage legal risk and develop mitigation strategies that enable growth, not just protect against it
Supervise and develop in-house legal staff and external legal resources
We believe you have:
10+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior in-house counsel role
A law degree from a recognised institution and admission to practice law in at least one EU jurisdiction
Proven experience in the technology or SaaS sector — you understand how these businesses work
A track record of advising on complex commercial, compliance, and regulatory matters across borders
The ability to communicate legal complexity clearly and build trust across functions
Experience leading or building a legal team, and a genuine interest in developing people as well as processes
Fluency in English
Bonus Points For:
Experience in a mid-sized or multinational tech company
Exposure to cross-border legal issues and European regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with GDPR, IP protection, SaaS licensing models, and AI governance
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We care more about curiosity, drive, and what you'll build with us than a perfect CV. ACEVE is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to building an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and every role counts. Our selection process is continuous — we review applications as they come in.
